About Me

Gladys M. Smith-Duran, MSW
General Manager of Desert Jasmine Enterprises, LLC, known as a homeschool single mom, micro-medical boarding house owner, nutritional medicine hobbist, and green gizmos fancier.

Email: djasminellc@gmail.com.

Graduated from college prep Bishop Machbeuf High School in Denver, CO in 1980. Only dream was to get married, run a home business to help my husband with expenses, and be an excellent mom. Became a mom in 1989. Became a single mom in 1996.

The stresses of being a single mom took their toll on her health and she became disabled from 1990-1995. Overcame disabilities, though prayer, medical care, expert therapy, and nutritional medicine; embarked upon a college career in 1997. Was accepted into Community College of Aurora. Dream was to be a single mom who ran a green, neo-populist, (completely self-supporting, non-government funded) school for single moms. Graduated, near the top of her class from Colorado Christian University in 2003. Went on to graduate, near the top of her class, again, with a Master's Degree from Capellla University in 2007.

Now writing innovative cookbooks that warm the soul and tummy, not just the palate.

First cookbook; this cookbook, for hard core gamers that spend approximately 16 hours a day playing computer games. It seeks to holistically improve their lives by giving them access to eating healthier, improving their brain health, finding an inspiring career, and finding a more rewarding life than hard core gaming.

Second cookbook: for traveler's who can't travel. It seeks to give them access to buy or cook foods from the most popular vacation spots in the world, while learning about the most popular traditional vacation spots, the most innovative vacation spots, and also about the little known vacation spot of Colfax Avenue in Denver, Colorado, the longest continuous and contiguous street in the world. This cookbook seeks warm the soul and the stomach, not just the palate, by including vignettes of good done by humanitarian travelers, and good deeds to benefit the crime ridden areas of Colfax Avenue, and thereby put more warm smiles on the faces of this cookbook's readers, and more warm smiles along the crime ridden areas of Colfax Ave.
